Where the design comes from
The name comes from the Mising community of Assam, also written as Missing or Mishing. The community is known across the state for its weaving, especially for colourful geometric patterns worked into cloth. Over time these patterns travelled far beyond the community and became a favourite in Assamese traditional wear.
